What's "Permanent Vote by Mail"?

California law allows any voter to register as a permanent Vote by Mail voter for any reason. If you choose to be a permanent Vote by Mail voter, you will not have to request a Vote by Mail ballot for each election; instead, you will automatically receive a ballot and all election materials in the mail for each election.
